Our client, a leading law firm in the Channel Islands, currently has a need for an experienced Solicitor to join its highly regarded Dispute Resolution team in Guernsey.

You will work closely with clients dealing with disputes, litigation, and insolvency matters, and will be accountable for preparing and conducting all types of proceedings in courts and tribunals. Core tasks will involve:

  • Developing a thorough understanding of each assigned client’s business and business philosophy, and for communicating that knowledge to whomever within the group may work on the client’s matters.
  • Representing the Group in dealings with other law firms, government representatives, agencies, and other professionals involved with the client’s matters.
  • Taking instructions from other attorneys or clients including suggesting, recommending, and drafting instruments for a particular matter, involving lawyers in other practice groups, where necessary or relevant.
  • Advising clients, in keeping with the internal policies and procedures, with respect to all aspects of client matters assigned to the Litigation and Insolvency Practice Group.

The ideal candidate will have between the 2-5 years’ PQE with previous litigation experience, together with strong academic qualifications.  This is an exciting opportunity for those who wish to make a move to the Channel Islands and be part of a friendly team in an inclusive environment.
