This UK Law Firm is one of the largest in Scotland and is currently seeking an additional Lawyer to join its In-House Legal Team in Edinburgh, which is part of the firm’s wider Business Assurance division.

The successful candidate will work closely with In-House Counsel and will be responsible for handling various in-house matters, including risk management and legal practice, data protection, regulatory issues and commercial contracts. Key tasks will include:

  • Keeping up to date with changes to law and regulation and supporting the business to make the necessary changes to comply.
  • Drafting and amending policies and procedures.
  • Working with the Internal Business Assurance team (quality assurance, internal audit).
  • Ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland and SRA requirements.
  • Reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts (supporting the Procurement Manager).

To be considered for this position, you will have between 1-3 years’ PQE with experience in commercial contracts and legal regulation, preferably gained within an in-house environment. However, this is not essential, as long as candidates have a genuine interest and can demonstrate enthusiasm in this area. Previous experience in risk management would be advantageous but is not essential.
