An established international law firm is seeking a Planning Solicitor to join its respected Development & Regeneration team, part of a national Planning & Infrastructure practice. This opportunity offers exposure to high‑profile, complex projects across the UK and the chance to work with an impressive client base of major developers and investors.

The successful candidate will support a broad mix of planning, development, and regeneration work at both regional and national levels. They will collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple practice groups, take on client‑facing responsibility early on, and play a part in supervising junior team members. The position also involves contributing to business development initiatives alongside senior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic planning advice across development and regeneration projects.
  • Supporting pre‑application processes and advising on planning opportunities and constraints.
  • Assisting with acquisition, development and project finance matters.
  • Advising on Environmental Impact Assessments and reviewing planning applications.
  • Drafting and negotiating planning and highways agreements.
  • Working on contentious matters, including appeals and judicial review.
  • Providing post‑consent and delivery‑stage planning advice.
  • Offering guidance on listed buildings, conservation areas, and highways issues.
  • Managing client relationships and supporting junior team members.

The firm is seeking a planning solicitor at NQ level or above, with demonstrable experience in development and regeneration work and a strong ability to build and maintain effective client relationships. Candidates should be confident communicators with the organisational skills needed to support a varied planning caseload, and while previous experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous, it is not essential.

The firm provides a supportive, inclusive, and flexible working environment, with a strong commitment to professional development, well‑being, and diversity. Employees benefit from structured training, health and wellness support, hybrid working options, and opportunities to contribute to pro bono and community initiatives.
