We are delighted to be exclusively working on a new fixed term 6 month interim role for this public sector body based in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join this friendly team who work very closely together on a fast moving, high profile and high value suite of litigation in the Court of Session.

Some your key duties will include:

  • analysing significant amounts of information to determine what is relevant,
  • instructing expert witnesses.
  • working closely with law accountants in relation to fees being claimed by a number of pursuers whose cases have settled and are now seeking significant amounts of expenses dealing with legal agents for the pursuers. All external agents are experienced criminal practitioners and are focussed in pursuing all avenues open to them in pursuit of their clients’ interests. There are negotiations with these agents over difficult issues, both legal and tactical.
  • liaising with witnesses and their legal advisers, often in relation to very sensitive issues.
  • preparation for Proof, including preparation of witness statements and preparation of productions.
  • preparation for mediation.
  • feeding into important communication and handling dimensions

To be considered for this role you should have at least 3 years’ PQE in civil litigation.
