Our client, a global provider of energy and power solutions, has a new interim opportunity to work with its Head of Legal. This role is for an experienced senior in-house Lawyer and sits within the European Legal Team. The assignment is for a minimum of three months, with the potential to extend to six months, and has arisen due to staff absence.

The position is based in Glasgow city centre with hybrid working (minimum two days in the office) and reports to the European General Counsel. While this is a full-time role, part-time arrangements may be considered.

The successful candidate will provide commercial legal advice, manage legal risk, and support regulatory compliance across the business. Working closely with internal teams including Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Operations, the role will primarily cover the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, with occasional involvement in wider European projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day commercial legal advice

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements (e.g., MSAs, framework agreements, tenders)

  • Supporting negotiations with customers and suppliers

  • Collaborating with internal teams across key European markets

  • Ensuring compliance with internal risk and contract management policies

  • Promoting corporate governance and compliance standards

The role is suited to a qualified lawyer with 10+ years PQE, ideally with in-house experience in a large organisation. Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills are essential. Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors, including familiarity with JCT, FIDIC, or NEC contracts, would be advantageous.
