Level: Associate
Section: In-House
Location: Scotland, Central Belt, Glasgow, Remote
Ref: FW9964

This specialist infrastructure and engineering business organisation is recruiting an Interim Assistant to General Counsel to support its in-house legal function. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to undertake a varied role, working closely with senior stakeholders and providing practical legal advice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and agreements
  • Supporting the General Counsel on day-to-day legal and contractual matters
  • Advising internal stakeholders on commercial, operational and risk-related legal issues
  • Reviewing and negotiating industry-standard contracts, including NEC and FIDIC documentation where applicable

Applicants should have at least 5 years’ PQE, with strong experience in non-contentious commercial law. Previous in-house experience would be advantageous, although candidates from private practice will also be considered. Experience in the construction, engineering, energy or rail sectors, together with familiarity with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts, would be highly desirable. Strong communication, stakeholder management and commercial awareness are essential.

This role offers significant flexibility, with the option to work remotely from anywhere in the UK, on a hybrid basis, or from offices in Glasgow or Coatbridge. The contract is initially for six months, working three days per week, with potential for the role to become permanent subject to business requirements.

If this role sounds of interest, please contact Cameron or Teddie for a confidential discussion. (Assignment 18175)
