An established UK law firm is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join its busy Rural Property team in Edinburgh or Aberdeen. This role provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of rural, agricultural, and land‑based transactions, supporting clients on matters such as sales and purchases of estates, farms and forestry, natural capital projects, agricultural tenancies, succession planning, and renewable energy developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on rural property transactions including estate, farm and forestry sales and purchases.
  • Support clients on agricultural tenancies and landlord/tenant matters.
  • Assist with natural capital projects and renewable energy developments.
  • Contribute to succession planning and partnership matters for rural clients.
  • Manage workloads effectively, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with firm procedures.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, keeping supervising solicitors informed on progress.
  • Undertake legal research, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge, and meet required CPD standards.
  • Uphold professional ethics, demonstrate sound judgment, and promote inclusive team culture.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years’ PQE with solid property law experience, along with strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, the ability to present legal information clearly, and confidence in managing their workload effectively. A proactive approach to teamwork, client care and personal development is essential, and while specific rural experience is an advantage, it is not required.
