Property Solicitor (Public Sector) – Scotland (assignment 15226)

Our client, an award-winning commercial law firm, currently has a need for a qualified solicitor to join its leading Public Sector and Housing team. The role will involve an interesting mix of property and conveyancing work and the successful candidate will provide advice and support to a variety of clients such as housing associations, local authorities, central government, charities, and public bodies.

Tasks will include advising on shared equity, commercial leases, development site acquisitions and large-scale security exercises.

The team is open to level of candidate from NQ level and above; experience of conveyancing law is essential. Previous experience of working within a public sector or social housing organisation would be beneficial but is not essential. This position is full time based in Glasgow with Hybrid working options available.

In-House Legal Officer – Glasgow (Assignment 15158)

We are delighted to have been instructed on this newly created in-house role with our client, a national organisation for sport. The Legal team is currently recruiting a qualified solicitor to join its busy office in Glasgow on a full-time basis, however the team is also happy to speak with candidates seeking part-time work (4 days) if this were something of interest.

The purpose of the role is to provide advice and support on a broad range of legal matters and the post-holder will work closely and report to the Legal Manager and Senior Legal officer. Responsibilities will include participating in project work, negotiating contracts, managing FOI’s and advising on legal aspects of the company’s business affairs.

The team is keen to hear from qualified lawyers at NQ level with previous experience of handling legal and compliance issues; experience of working within either a public sector or in-house legal environment is desirable, however not essential.

Private Wealth & Tax – Edinburgh (Assignment 15172)

This highly regarded Scottish-headquartered UK law firm is currently recruiting an NQ Solicitor to work across its growing Private Client and Corporate Tax teams in Edinburgh. By working across both teams this role will provide a rare opportunity to develop a broad understanding of UK tax law as well as developing expertise in specialised areas of private client advice including its impact on clients with varied commercial interests.

The firm is keen to hear from NQ or recently qualified candidates. You will be a technically strong individual with the drive to success in a challenging, varied, and busy environment. Prior experience of Corporate Tax is not necessary as full training will be provided, however, some experience in either corporate or real estate transactions would be an advantage.

Family Law – Wick/Inverness/Edinburgh/Remote (Assignment 15041)

Our client, a well-established boutique law practice with various offices around Scotland, is currently recruiting a qualified Solicitor, specialising in Family Law. You will work with a strong and diverse client base throughout Scotland as well as the Orkney and Shetland Islands and will be involved in the full range of family law matters from divorce and separation to child law.

The firm is open to level of candidates and will also consider newly qualified solicitors. Previous experience of family law work is essential to this role. Working knowledge of private client, employment law and rural property disputes would be beneficial but not essential. The position is full time, however candidates seeking part-time work will also be considered. The successful candidate can be based in any of the firm’s office locations which include Edinburgh and north of Scotland; hybrid working options are available with a minimum of two days per week office presence required.

Construction Contentious & Non-Contentious – Edinburgh (Assignment 14491)

This award-winning law firm is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Construction & Engineering team in Edinburgh.  The ideal candidate will be at the NQ – 3 level PQE with previous experience of contentious/non-contentious construction and engineering matters.  An early 2023 qualifier would be considered.   You will advise on all aspects of legal construction matters, from institutional and market expectations to strategic advice on procurement and contentious aspects of projects during and after the completion of a project.

This is a full-time position which will primarily be based in Edinburgh; however, the role will require working closely with the Glasgow and Belfast offices in particular as well as working with the other offices across the UK.

Commercial Contracts – Edinburgh (Assignment 14675)

We are delighted to be working on this in-house legal role with a renewable energy organisation based in Edinburgh.  The organisation is seeking a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join its busy team who focuses on offshore windfarms.

The ideal candidate will be in the NQ-5 years’ PQE bracket and have an enthusiasm and desire to work in a busy in-house commercial role.  Your key duties will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial documentation.
  • Analysing complex and legal commercial issues.
  • Managing and negotiating contractor claims.
  • Instructing and managing external counsel.
  • Advising on regulatory matters.
  • Assisting with general legal enquiries from the business.

Candidates should have previous commercial contracts experience; it would be beneficial if you have experience in the energy or infrastructure sector.
