IP/IT Partner – Glasgow

Practice Area: Commercial Contracts, Corporate, IP/IT
Level: Partner, Full Time
Section: Law Firm
Location: Scotland, Central Belt, Glasgow
Ref: FW9773

Our client, a respected Scottish law firm, is recruiting an experienced IP/IT Partner to join its Glasgow office. The firm has broad commercial and private client expertise, operates multiple offices across the West of Scotland, and supports a wide range of legal needs for individuals and businesses.

This is a strategic hire aimed at bringing in a specialist with a solid client following, who can also pick up appropriate IP/IT work from the firm’s existing and diverse client base. While the firm does not currently generate a high volume of standalone IP/IT matters, a steady stream of work arises across the practice.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years’ PQE, with strong technical expertise in IP/IT matters and the ability to develop and grow a practice area within the firm.

The incoming partner will handle a broad range of advisory and transactional matters, including:

  • Reviewing and negotiating supplier and commercial contracts
  • Advising on trademark registration and brand protection
  • Providing copyright advice across varied sectors and client needs

This role offers the opportunity to build and develop an IP/IT practice within a supportive and growing firm, with strong cross‑departmental collaboration and scope for long‑term growth.
