Senior Employment Lawyer – Edinburgh / Glasgow / Hybrid

Practice Area: Non-contentious, Contentious, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law
Level: Associate, Full Time
Section: Law Firm
Location: Scotland, Central Belt, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Remote, East Lothian
Ref: FW9790

A well‑established Scottish law firm is currently recruiting a Senior Employment Lawyer to expand its Employment team in its Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. The firm is known for its strong client service, high‑quality work, and commitment to developing and supporting its people across all stages of their careers.

The role will involve working on a broad range of employment law matters, including:

  • Handling contentious employment tribunal claims
  • Advising on non‑contentious employment matters, including contracts, policies, and day‑to‑day HR queries
  • Supporting clients on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues
  • Advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, redundancy, and whistleblowing matters
  • Providing employment support for corporate transactions, including TUPE and due diligence

The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE, although more experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a genuine interest in litigation/contentious employment work and the confidence to manage tribunal matters alongside general advisory tasks. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Employment team with exposure to a diverse client portfolio and the full range of Scottish employment law issues.

The role is ideally based in Edinburgh, though the firm is open to candidates based in other Scottish offices, and hybrid working is available. The firm offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. If this sounds of interest, please contact Cameron or Teddie for a confidential discussion. (Assignment 18199)
