FWA versus the rest, what sets FWA apart?

Apr 2019

The Preconception of recruitment agencies is that they are solely fee focused, do not fully care or understand your job search or needs.

There is nothing worse than sending your CV off to a recruitment agency or even a potential employer, with expectations of a reply, and then to be left high and dry.  You expect a call or at least an email but hear nothing, you don’t receive feedback after an interview, your expectations to reality do not measure up!

It only takes one agency to give us all a bad name.  The biggest gripe for candidates is that some recruitment agencies say they will call back but never do, you send your CV off and can barely squeeze out a confirmation email that the agency has received it, you check your emails daily in hope of a reply but nothing.  Some of you may not have had experience with recruitment agencies before and possibly will think your CV automatically goes to the organisation that has a vacancy, but in some cases, your CV will never reach the intended recipient.  Therefore, it is imperative that agencies communicate with their candidates.

All these factors can be demotivating for candidates, we realise that. That’s why here at FWA, we pride ourselves on our relationships with our candidates.  We work closely with you to establish an in-depth understanding of what your career goals are as well as what you want/expect from us.  We have your best interest at heart and are always available.  We take the time to get to know our candidates and regularly meet them for face-to-face interviews, this adds a personal touch to our services and is an aspect that sets us apart from other agencies.  This also allows us to make the best decision regarding your career and what positions will be of interest to you.  We fully believe in working in partnership with our candidates and recognise your standards are high, therefore we always take the time to provide you with interview preparation to enhance your own preparation for any interviews.  To us you are not just a candidate on a conveyor belt, we provide you with individual advice and guidance in relation to your own career goals and aspirations.  If you need help, we can give it, we provide tips and relevant advice on preparing and updating your CV.

Some tips when starting your recruitment journey;

  • Try not to work with more than one recruitment agency at a time, unless you are fully managing the process.  This can result in your CV being submitted many times to the same company (sometimes unknowingly to you) and can make you seem unorganised and that you are applying for everything and anything.
  • Keep track of where your CV is going.
  • Research recruitment agencies to find out which is the best fit for you.

Remember when you are choosing what recruitment agency to work with, that we value our candidates and that they are an important asset to us.
