NQ FOCUS

At Frasia Wright Associates, we are currently managing a range of interesting and challenging opportunities for newly qualified professionals. If you are seeking an NQ position, we encourage you to reach out to us for a confidential discussion or visit our website. Below, we highlight a small selection of the exciting opportunities available:

Dispute Resolution – Edinburgh (Assignment 17257)

A leading Scottish law firm is seeking multiple solicitors to join its highly regarded Dispute Resolution team, following a period of sustained growth. With one of the largest litigation teams in the country, the firm is regularly involved in complex, high-profile cases across the Court of Session, Supreme Court, and Sheriff Court.

Based in Edinburgh, these roles will focus on public sector litigation, supporting a team recognised for its expertise in public and administrative law. The work will include advising on statutory interpretation, the powers, and duties of public bodies, and representing clients in judicial reviews, appeals, and public inquiries. While experience in this area is preferred, it is not essential.
Applications are welcomed from solicitors at all stages of their careers, from newly qualified to Partner level. The ideal candidates will be client-focused, detail-oriented, and confident managing a varied caseload under pressure. A collaborative approach and strong communication skills are essential.

This award-winning law firm values integrity, flexibility, and community, offering competitive benefits, career growth, and a commitment to diversity.

Rural Property – Edinburgh (Assignment 17249)

Our client, a leading UK law firm headquartered in Scotland, is seeking a newly qualified Solicitor to join its Rural Property Team based in Edinburgh.

This permanent, full-time role offers a broad range of transactional work, including the sale and purchase of forestry, farms and estates, natural capital and renewables projects, and agricultural tenancies. Key responsibilities include managing client relationships, supporting business development, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance, and effectively using firm systems. While rural experience is advantageous, it is not essential, however applicants must have property law experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable firm that values collaboration and diversity. Participation in CSR initiatives and firm-wide activities is encouraged, with opportunities for long-term career development.

Personal Injury/Abuse – Edinburgh/Glasgow (Assignment 17146)

We have been instructed on this opportunity with our client, an international law firm with a strong reputation in litigation. The firm is currently seeking two Personal Injury/Abuse Lawyers to join its busy team in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office. These roles will primarily focus on supporting senior colleagues in the provision of litigation services and legal advice relating to personal injury matters, with a particular emphasis on abuse-related claims. The work may include handling sensitive and often complex cases involving institutional or historic abuse.

The firm is keen to hear from candidates at newly qualified level and above, and the roles will involve supporting partners and senior solicitors in the preparation of cases, including drafting pleadings, preparing for court hearings, and client engagement.

Experience in personal injury law or in a client-facing legal role is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage a varied caseload with care and efficiency, alongside a strong commitment to high-quality client service and professionalism, especially in sensitive matters. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated and empathetic solicitors to develop their expertise in a well-regarded team with a supportive and flexible working culture.

Dispute Resolution – Glasgow/Hybrid (Assignment 15716)

This Glasgow Law Firm is currently seeking a Lawyer to join its highly regarded Dispute Resolution Team on a full-time basis. The purpose of the role is to manage a broad caseload of diverse civil litigation matters from start to finish with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate can expect to be involved in a variety of dispute cases including contract disputes, commercial landlord & tenants, professional negligence and property disputes. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in some criminal defence work.

The team welcomes applications from candidates at all levels, from NQ to Senior Associate, who have a strong background in general litigation. Experience handling highly sensitive and complex matters is desirable. Exposure to the Sheriff Court and/or First Teir Tribunals is desirable.

Structured and Project Finance – Edinburgh (Assignment 17247)

Our client, a leading international Law Firm, is seeking an additional Lawyer to join its Structured and Project Finance Team in Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh-based team, led by an experienced partner, works closely with colleagues across the firm’s global network. They advise a broad range of clients, including banks, energy companies, infrastructure funds, and public sector bodies. This role offers significant client contact, early responsibility, and exposure to high-quality international work.

The ideal candidate will be NQ–2 years’ PQE, with experience gained at a large commercial firm, ideally one with a recognised energy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience or a strong interest in finance law, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors. The work will involve advising on complex, high-value transactions, including renewable energy projects, infrastructure financing, and cross-border advisory mandates.

The firm offers a dynamic environment with genuine opportunities for development and client engagement.

Solicitor Asylum & Immigration – Glasgow (Assignment 15294)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking law firm as an Asylum & Immigration Solicitor in Glasgow. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking several solicitors to complement its existing team.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of immigration law, including advising on human rights, nationality issues, employment matters, and visas. Candidates from NQ to senior level will be considered. Experience in handling asylum and immigration cases is crucial, along with a strong understanding of Legal Aid Advice and Assistance. Advocacy experience is also desirable. The firm is committed to personal and professional development and is looking to recruit individuals dedicated to a long-term opportunity.

If you’re interested in any of the roles mentioned above, or would like to discuss the NQ market more broadly, please feel free to reach out to Steph or Jade from FWA’s dedicated NQ Outlook™ Specialist Division.
