News and Updates from FWA
Mar 2025
FWA stays up-to-date with the latest interview trends to provide valuable insights and tips for job seekers.
Why is an interview checklist important?
We believe a pre-interview checklist is key and ensures you are well-prepared, confident, and professionally ready, while a post-interview checklist helps you reflect, follow up, and track next steps, increasing your chances of success.
Pre-Interview Checklist ✅
✔ Understand the Role – Carefully review the job description and prepare examples that showcase your relevant experience.
✔ Research the Company & Interviewers – Explore the company’s website, social media, and recent news. Familiarise yourself with their values, mission, and any industry trends that may impact them.
✔ Stay Updated – Check for any recent company or industry news that could be relevant to your interview. Being informed shows initiative and enthusiasm.
✔ Prepare Logistically –
• Virtual interview? Test your internet connection, camera, and microphone, and ensure your interview link works.
• In-person interview? Plan your route in advance, aim to arrive early, and dress appropriately for the company culture.
Post-Interview Checklist 🎯
✔ Send a Thank You Message – Express appreciation for the opportunity and reinforce your interest in the role (if you are!). A thoughtful follow-up can leave a lasting impression.
✔ Be Patient – Hiring processes can take time. Expect to wait at least a week for a response.
✔ Follow Up if Needed – If you haven’t heard back within 7–14 business days, consider sending a polite follow-up email.
✔ Seek Feedback – If unsuccessful, request feedback. Use this insight to refine your approach and strengthen your future interviews.
