FWA 25 year’s Anniversary – Candidate Q&A

Apr 2021

As part of our 25th year celebrations, we took the opportunity to speak with one of our candidates, Liz Salmon, regarding her career in Law. We placed Liz in our 1st year in business and more recently our 25th year. Here is what she had to say around her experience:

What first attracted you to a career in the legal sector?
Working with people to create positive outcomes in a collaborative way.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your career so far?
I trained at W&J Burness, joined Shepherd & Wedderburn as an NQ in commercial real estate in 1995 where I stayed for 18 years, then joined HBJ Gateley (which merged with Addleshaw Goddard) for 8 years, and am now at Brodies in their Rural Business property division.

What is your career highlight/s so far?
Meeting and working with some of the best people in the Scottish legal sector over many years. And I am delighted to have recently joined Brodies, which is a fantastic firm, again because they have great people, great clients and great work.

What advice would you give to younger self?
Have more confidence in your abilities – you can do it!

What has your experience with FWA been like?
Always friendly, professional and helpful, with a huge amount of contacts. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Frasia for 25 years now!

We are hugely appreciative of Liz and all our candidates and clients who have continuously supported us over the past 25 years and cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of us!
