Level: Associate, Partner, Full Time

Ref: FW9793

A leading full‑service Scottish law firm is seeking a Senior Associate / Partner to join its well‑established and expanding Private Client team in Glasgow. This is an opportunity to play a strategic role in the growth of a highly respected practice while working with one of Scotland’s largest private client teams.

This position offers the chance to support individuals, families, and trustees at significant moments in their lives. You’ll handle a broad range of personal and wealth‑planning matters while contributing to the leadership, development, and innovation of the Glasgow team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, expert advice on wills, estate and succession planning, inheritance tax, trusts, powers of attorney and wider wealth‑management matters.
  • Manage complex and high‑value estates, trusts and tax‑planning files with confidence and empathy.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Support business development activity and contribute to the strategic growth of the Private Client offering.
  • Play an active role in mentoring and developing colleagues within the team.
  • Embrace new technologies and improved processes to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
  • Collaborate across a large, national Private Client department to deliver cohesive, joined‑up advice.

You bring strong all‑round Private Client experience, ideally including work on complex estates, trusts, and wealth planning. STEP qualification—whether completed or in progress—is a clear advantage. You are confident leading matters independently, exercising sound judgment and professionalism while building empathetic client relationships. Key strengths include excellent communication, a strategic approach, and an interest in business development. You will also support and motivate colleagues and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
