Hairspray at CentreStage – Supported by FWA

Apr 2024

FWA is delighted to be sponsoring CentreStage Kilmarnock for their upcoming production of the popular musical, Hairspray!

Hairspray” is a musical set in 1960s Baltimore, following the story of Tracy Turnblad, a spirited teenager with big dreams of dancing on a local TV show. Tracy’s journey involves breaking down racial barriers on the dance floor, challenging societal norms, and promoting acceptance and inclusion, all while navigating personal struggles and family dynamics. Through catchy tunes and lively dance numbers, the musical celebrates diversity, self-confidence, and the power of standing up for what’s right.

CentreStage envisions a society where everyone can thrive, regardless of age or circumstances. Guided by values of hope, inclusion, and aspiration, they’ve dedicated themselves since 2006 to developing creative avenues for increased participation and empowerment through the arts.

We are excited to contribute to CentreStage’s mission of enabling others to unlock their potential and fulfill their dreams and ambitions.
