An established UK law firm is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Planning lawyer to join its national Planning and Future Energy team at Managing Associate or Legal Director level. The firm advises across all three UK legal jurisdictions, with particular strength in future energy, planning, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on complex planning advice, applications, and appeals, with a focus on transport and renewable energy projects
  • Advising on nationally significant infrastructure projects, including Development Consent Orders (DCOs)
  • Acting on consenting matters for offshore wind developments
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple UK offices
  • Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior team members
  • Contributing to business development and strengthening existing and new client relationships
  • Supporting the growth and development of the firm’s infrastructure and DCO practice
  • Participating in internal knowledge‑sharing and training initiatives

The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with 7+ years’ post‑qualification experience (or equivalent) in planning and/or infrastructure law. They will have demonstrable experience advising on nationally significant infrastructure projects and/or Development Consent Orders, alongside experience working with both public and private sector clients; prior exposure to local authority work would be advantageous. A strong commercial mindset is essential, with proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development activity. The role requires a confident and collaborative leader with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.
