Scottish Future Trust are at the forefront of improving public sector infrastructure across Scotland.  They are currently recruiting a Senior Associate Director to lead on all legal matters, including management of legal risk, obtaining external legal support and advice when appropriate.  This role will be suited to a candidate who has gained project/project finance experience in either a private practice or in-house setting.

  • Provide legal support on procurements (both strategic and, via Legal Manager, procurement process support) and procurement implications of programmes, projects and related commercial structures;
  • Develop and manage standard specification elements to support programmes and projects;
  • Be responsible for legal risk management. Both internally, including how they decide and assure themselves on decisions around when they should engage a law firm with appropriate specific technical skills and PI cover to advise us on legal matters rather than relying on advice from in-house qualified lawyers and externally including how they assure themselves that they are not giving legal advice to third parties, which they do not have appropriate liability or insurance arrangements in place to do.
