Interim Public Sector Solicitor – Edinburgh

We are currently working, as sole agency, on this interim position within this public sector organisation based in Edinburgh.  It is looking to recruit a Solicitor to join its Advisory and Legislation team.  The team is keen for the successful candidate to start in March and the contract is expected to last a minimum of 8 months.

You will be involved in all aspects of advisory and legislation, and act in the development and delivery of legislation, policy and public service across Scotland.  The organisation is keen to hear from candidates at all levels, with good knowledge of, or strong interest in the advisory and legislation law. The role requires the ability to manage information and interpret data to make sound decisions and provide competent legal advice.

The team is open to flexible working patterns, and hybrid working is in place where you will be required to be in the office 1 or 2 days per week. (Assignment 14652)

Interim Solicitors, Public Sector – Edinburgh

This is a unique opportunity for interim Assistant Solicitors or Solicitor Advocates to support a high-profile statutory Public Inquiry investigating Scotland’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The contract will run for a minimum of 12 months and there is more than one position.

This is an interesting and varied role which will involve investigating high-profile evidence and identifying witnesses.  You will also be responsible for drafting protocol, as well as assisting the management of hearings.

The team work on a hybrid bases between the Edinburgh based office and remotely.

To be considered for this position you should be a qualified solicitor with at least 1 years’ PQE and have strong litigation experience.  The role also requires excellent attention to detail and adaptability. (Assignment 14484)

Scottish Public Inquiry, Interim Assistant Solicitor – Edinburgh

This public sector body is recruiting for an interim Assistant Solicitor to join its investigation for a duration of at least 12 months.  This is a rare opportunity to support a high-profile Public Inquiry investigating an important aspect of the Scottish criminal justice system.  Main duties will include:

  • Reviewing and analysing any recovered evidence
  • Taking statements from witnesses
  • Identifying and recovering evidence
  • Preparing submissions for the Chair of the Inquiry
  • Liaison with the solicitors representing the core participants
  • Drafting of, and ensuring compliance with, the Inquiry’s procedure/protocol documents

This position is based in central Edinburgh and would be suited to candidates seeking full time or part-time work; part time would ideally be 4 days however 3 days will be considered for the right person. To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor at least 1+ year PQE and possess excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills as they are essential to this role.  Previous experience of working in a Public Inquiry is desirable but not essential.  (Assignment 14578)

Interim Solicitor, Public Sector – Edinburgh

This public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Marine Environmental Team. This role is for an interim period of 12 months and involves advising on a range of marine environment policies including domestic law, retained EU and international Law and devolution settlement.

To team is keen to hear from candidates from the NQ level and upwards, who ideally have previous public law experience. A sound understanding of and confidence working with legislation is helpful and they are also open to different areas of law and a genuine interest in this area.

This role offers hybrid working with the expectation you will be in the office one day per week. Candidates wishing to work 4 days would be considered. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in high-profile work. (Assignment 14574)

Interim Commercial Solicitor – Edinburgh

Exciting opportunity to join this in-house commercial legal team for a 6 months FTC, with the possibility of extension.  You will have a varied and challenging workload advising on all aspects of commercial contracts.  You will be responsible for providing advising on commercial contract drafting, public procurement, subsidy control, public law, data protection, freedom of information, governance, RIPSA, corporate law, construction law and housing law.

To be considered for this position you should have at least 2 years’ PQE and have previous commercial contracts experience.

Although the team is Edinburgh based, remote working would be considered. (Assignment 14509)
