Public Sector, Interim Lawyer – Edinburgh 

This is a unique, temporary role for a qualified Solicitor, with this public sector organisation for a fixed term contract of 6 months. The role is based in Edinburgh with a possibility of hybrid working. You will work within the Housing branch, providing legal advice and support to several divisions of Local Government and Housing. The role offers a varied workload in a high-profile area of law with a strong human rights focus and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in legislation.

The organisation is open to PQE level of candidates, but it is essential for candidates to be qualified in Scotland and hold a valid practising certificate.  The team need someone who can start as soon as possible.  Flexible working is on offer.  (Assignment 14740)

Public Sector, Interim Solicitor (Environmental) – Edinburgh/Hybrid 

Exciting In-House opportunity!

We have been instructed, as a sole agency, on a unique in-house role with our client, a public sector organisation. The role sits within the organisations Environmental Protection Branch which is based in central Edinburgh. The branch is currently recruiting for a Solicitor to join its busy team; the post holder will be involved in environmental quality work which includes air quality, regulation of chemicals, and water quality. The successful candidate will work alongside different members within the branch and advise on different policy areas.

This position is an FTC for an initial period of 6 months with a mix of office and home working options available depending on the requirements of the role. To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor in Scots Law and hold a current practising certificate (early 2023 qualifiers will also be considered). Previous experience of drafting secondary legislation or a willingness to learn this and to develop the skills is required. (14786)

Public Sector, Corporate Solicitor – Edinburgh/Hybrid (SFT)

We are delighted to have been exclusively instructed on this unique in-house position with our client, a successful organisation specialising in infrastructure across the public and private sectors. The company is currently recruiting for a Legal Manager to join its busy Corporate Services team, based in Edinburgh. This is a part-time position and would be suited to candidates seeking 2.5 to 3 days. You will effectively contribute to the provision of high quality legal support, provide clear, concise and pragmatic advice to the company and work continuously to improve service delivery and performance of the Legal and Procurement team.

The team is keen to hear from candidates at the 4 years PQE level and above, ideally with a strong background in corporate law. Previous experience in procurement is desired but not essential. The company are operating a Hybrid working model with a requirement of only one day in the office per week. (Assignment 14579)

Public Sector, Regulatory Solicitor – Edinburgh/Hybrid

Exciting opportunity to join this busy In-House team based in Edinburgh. This professional body organisation is currently recruiting for a Regulatory Policy Advisor to join and work closely with the wider Regulatory Policy team. This is a full-time position with hybrid working options available. The role is varied and will involve the following tasks:

  • Gathering information on public interest issues.
  • Researching and engaging with various stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Handling complex regulatory policy matters.
  • Developing proposals and recommendations.
  • Developing training and educational materials and presenting on new initiatives or issues, as required.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a good understanding of the concept of public interest and financial services, particularly insurance and pensions. Previous experience of working within a professional body is desirable but not essential. (Assignment 14815)
