Junior Data Protection Lawyer – Edinburgh

Practice Area: Commercial Litigation, Data Protection, Employment Law
Level: NQ 2025, NQ, Assistant, Associate, Full Time
Section: Law Firm
Location: Central Belt, Edinburgh, Scotland
Ref: FW9613

This well-established legal practice is currently recruiting for a junior lawyer to join its team in Edinburgh, with a focus on data protection. This is a permanent, full-time role offering the chance to work across both employment-related data protection matters and wider commercial data work within a close-knit and expert team.

The successful candidate will advise on a range of data protection and GDPR issues including compliance reviews, policy drafting, risk assessments, regulatory investigations, and breach management. You will also contribute to internal client queries and broader business services involving data handling and security. Some exposure to employment law crossover work may also be part of the remit.

Candidates should have between NQ and 3 years’ PQE, with prior experience in advising on data protection matters. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing a specialist profile in this growing area are key. The team operates a hybrid working model with flexibility, though regular office collaboration in Edinburgh is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to build on their data protection experience and develop within a respected team that values progression, support, and technical growth. If this position may be of interest, please contact Teddie or Cameron for a confidential initial discussion. (Assignment 17803)
