This is an exciting opportunity to join this in-house organisation, you will gain invaluable experience and be involved in a range of interesting work.  This position is for an interim period of 12 months and is based in Dundee. Our client is open to the level of candidates and this role involves providing support across a range of legal services within this organisation, in particular legal work associated with litigation and advice, including:

  • To ensure effective delivery of professional legal services by provision of expert legal advice and guidance to Senior Management and other key members of the organisation, execution of legal work, particularly litigation and advice.
  • To liaise, as required, with all clients, offer advice and assistance , and to actively promote understanding and appreciation of the work of the Litigation and Advice Team within Legal Services.
  • To represent the organisation, including by way of appearance in civil litigation in the Scottish Courts and Tribunals, including Fatal Accident Inquires, Summary and Statutory Applications to the Sheriff, and Employment Tribunals.
  • To manage the outsourcing of legal matters to external legal suppliers.
  • To deal with civil claims against the organisation.
  • To represent the Head of Legal Services at any meeting or working group, as required.
  • To devise and provide training on such litigation and advice legal matters as are relevant to staff duties and to give guidance on developments in the law.
