We are delighted to be working on this rare opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland (MDDUS) in-house legal team in Glasgow. MDDUS is a mutual defence organisation offering access to expert medico-legal and dento-legal advice and professional indemnity for doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals across the UK.

This role focuses on clinical negligence, and you will be responsible for managing your own claims of pre-litigated and litigated files as well as supporting a team of lawyers on more complex issues.  Your key duties will include –

  • The provision of claims handling services
  • Assisting under direction in other non-claims cases
  • Supporting the team in case and document preparation and attendance at court
  • Attending court, other hearings, consultations or pre-trial meetings

To be considered for this position you should be an experienced paralegal, ideally with previous clinical negligence experience/exposure.  MDDUS has a brand new office and offers a range of benefits, including hybrid working.
