In-house Paralegal – 12 month Fixed Term Contract – Edinburgh          

Exciting opportunity to join this Public Sector Team on an interim basis.  This is an interesting role where you will be involved in high-profile inquiry work.  You will be responsible for supporting a team of solicitors and some of your key duties will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of core participant documentation
  • Assisting with preparation of inquiry protocols
  • Cross checking documents before publication
  • Liaising with secretariat on operation of core participant applications, including updating guidance
  • Liaising and supporting Counsel
  • Liaising with the solicitors representing any core participants
  • To be considered for this position you should be an experienced paralegal or have similar relevant experience. This role is Edinburgh based with the opportunity to work remotely.  The role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, but there is scope for this to be extended beyond 12 months. (Assignment 13858)

Interim Part-time Family Solicitor – Glasgow  

This friendly law firm is currently recruiting an experienced Solicitor for an interim period of 2 months (July/August).  This role is based in Glasgow and candidates should have family law experience and be comfortable dealing with all aspects of family law including divorce, separation and child law work.  This firm does not undertake any legal aid work and will be focused on assisting private clients.  The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and have experience doing court appearance work.  This can be a hybrid role, but you will be required to be office based initially.  The role is part-time, and the firm would be looking for someone to work 3 days per week.  (Assignment 13824)

Interim Senior Legal Counsel – Edinburgh                                             

This in-house organisation is currently looking to recruit a Solicitor to join its Pensions Team on a 1 year FTC.  You will be involved in a range of interesting work, including some of the below:

  • A full range of pro-active specialist legal and technical support, advice, guidance, and recommendations across the UK business units
  • Detailed pensions law knowledge
  • Leading on the review and analysis of current and upcoming legislative and regulatory aspects of pensions, ISAs and protection products and services
  • Detailed advice, guidance, and recommendations on the resolution of complex and high value disputes
  • Drafting and interpreting complex legal documentation with precision and an understanding of the commercial intent
  • Ensuring the Group’s contractual documentation with customers, employers and advisers for its pensions and investments business and pension scheme rules and other pension documentation is accurate and of an appropriate standard
  • General legal and administrative duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have at least 5 years’+ PQE and have strong pensions experience.  The organisation is also open to hear from candidates who wish to work part-time. (Assignment 13681)

Interim Solicitor, Public Sector – Edinburgh

This public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Local Government & Economy Division.  This role is for a fixed term period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension. You will be involved in high-profile work which will include advising on policy matters; advice on primary and secondary legislation; instructing primary legislation and drafting secondary legislation; and advice on the functions and obligations of ministers, including legislative competence. (Assignment 13844)

Junior Commercial Contracts Solicitor – Edinburgh or Glasgow   

This global business is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Commercial Contracts Team.  This role is providing an in-house function to an in-house retailer.  You will be involved in a range of complex work which will include commercial contracts, technology, outsourcing agreements and third-party supplier arrangements.  To be considered for this position you should be at the NQ-4 years’ PQE level and have commercial contracts experience, as well as technology and intellectual property experience.  (Assignment 13866)

Professional Support Lawyer – Edinburgh or Glasgow

The role will involve supporting the Litigation team with legal research, knowledge management and facilitation and delivery of relevant training.  Some of your key duties will include:

  • Monitor legal developments and ensure all Litigation fee earners receive appropriate technical and legal market knowledge by means of internal training sessions, circulation of appropriate articles and regular email updates.
  • Carry out legal research on cases and legislation and support other fee earners with their research.
  • Manage and update the litigation style documents creating and updating templates on the case manager system as required.
  • Liaise with fee earners on an ongoing basis in relation to continuous improvement of documentation and the collection of information.
  • Manage the divisional training budget and organise sessions with external speakers as appropriate.

To be considered for this role you should have at least 2 years’ PQE in litigation. (Assignment 13210)

Senior Legal Counsel (Maternity Cover) – Edinburgh

This is a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. You will be an experienced solicitor able to manage legal workflows and transactional matters. You will have excellent knowledge of contract law, GDPR and Financial regulations.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing legal and transactional matters across all areas of pensions, investments and general business. (Assignment 13672)
