Interim Legal Counsel – Glasgow/Edinburgh/Hybrid (Assignment 14612)

Our client, a financial services organisation based in Scotland, is currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join its busy in-house team for an interim period of 6-10 months. This is an interesting role where you will support the team on various aspects of financial services and pensions. Some of your duties will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide variety of commercial contracts.
  • Developing knowledge and understanding of key area’s propositions, core business and associated risks.
  • Support proposition and client-based projects with legal advice.
  • Drafting best practice notes, developing and maintaining processes, policies, guidance, and templates and assisting in training.

The firm is keen to hear from candidates with 1-year PQE or more, who are qualified either in Scotland or England. Previous experience in the retail financial market, pensions or with a professional services firm would be advantageous but candidates with general commercial contracts experience will also be considered. This role can be office based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, or fully remote with some travel to the office.

Interim Commercial Lawyer – Glasgow (Assignment 15493)

This well-regarded construction company in Scotland is currently expanding in Glasgow and is in need of an Interim Commercial Lawyer to join their team for a 12-month FTC.

As part of your responsibilities, you’ll deliver legal services to various internal departments, such as health & safety, procurement, and commercial sectors. Your tasks will cover a wide spectrum, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporate/company law, dispute resolution, compliance & risk management, construction-related advice, insolvency, procurement, insurance, property, and commercial bidding.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years PQE experience, demonstrating significant expertise in general commercial and In-House roles. Non-UK qualified lawyers are also invited to apply, especially those with substantial experience in contracts, public sector procurement, or compliance.

For those interested in an in-house position, this opportunity is a great avenue to gain valuable experience. This is a full-time position and operates within the framework of an agile working policy.

Interim Personal Injury Solicitor – Glasgow (Assignment 15666)

Our client, a specialist litigation firm is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its expanding Personal Injury team in Glasgow on a Fixed Term Contract.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ PQE and have experience handling RTA, public liability, and employment claims. Previous experience of disease and clinical negligence work would be beneficial however not essential.

Property & Infrastructure Disputes – Edinburgh/Glasgow (Assignment 15717)

This innovative law firm currently has an open vacancy for a senior lawyer to join its Construction and Infrastructure Disputes team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

This is an interesting opportunity, and the purpose of the role is to support the team in representing major contractors and employers in complex dispute matters. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate an appropriate range of legal knowledge and experience, deliver high-quality advice to commercial clients, assist in documenting settlements and dispute-related agreements and help to identify strategies to manage work, objectives and budgets.

The ideal candidate will have between 3-6 years PQE, ideally with previous experience of property or construction disputes; exposure to sensitive and complex cases would also be beneficial. The position is full-time with hybrid working options available, and the team is also willing to consider those seeking part-time work for Glasgow-based candidates.

Interim Lawyer, Equalities and Social Justice Branch – Edinburgh (Assignment 15823)

This public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join the Edinburgh team on an interim basis. The role sits within the Equalities and Social Justice Branch and the contract will run until December 2024, with the possibility of an extension.

The main purpose of the role is to provide professional advice and assistance to social justice clients on a wide range of refugee and asylum matters as well as high-profile equality matters. The work is varied, and the successful candidate can expect to advise on social issues such as hate crimes and public order, gender identity and trans issues, food insecurities and women’s rights matters.

To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor in Scots Law and hold a current practising certificate. The team is open to level of candidates from 1-year PQE and above with a strong knowledge and understanding of public and administrative law, along with confidence working with legislation. This is a full-time position with a hybrid working policy in place.
