We are delighted to have been instructed on this in-house role with our client, a well-known organisation within the energy sector. Due to business growth, the business is currently recruiting a qualified lawyer to join its busy Legal team; the location for each post is flexible and can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

The successful candidate can expect to be involved in all aspects of data protection; responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Group Data Protection Officer in maintaining a data protection culture across the businesses and monitoring compliance with the internal protection control framework(s).
  • Advising and negotiate data protection and privacy issues in relation to commercial and IT contracts.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of data protection law (including the e-privacy regulations) in order to provide advice and guidance to relevant stakeholders in relation to Data Protection and the requirements of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

The team is open to candidates with at least 1+ year PQE ideally with good knowledge of data privacy legislation in and UK and EU, and an understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
