Our client, a successful Scottish law firm, is currently recruiting for a Data Protection Solicitor to join its team based in either its Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Dundee office. The firm is one of the largest full-service law firms in Scotland, working with a diverse range of clients across the public, private and third sectors. You will support the wider team in working with clients across a broad range of sectors including healthcare, retail, technology, research and development, professional services, and education.

The role will involve:

  • Assisting with data protection audits
  • Analysing risk with a commercial outlook
  • Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and data sharing agreements
  • Researching complex data protection issues
  • Drafting privacy notices, cookie notices and data protection related policies

The ideal candidate will be 2-3 years PQE level ideally with previous data protection experience, however the team are open to solicitors at other levels of experience with a passion for data protection. An EU or UK-GDPR or CIPP/E qualification along with data protection experience or an information security compliance role would be advantageous. This is a full-time position with genuine prospects to advance your career in this area. Hybrid working is also on offer.
