Our Client is looking to recruit a Data Protection officer with at least 5 years’ + pqe. You will be involved in the delivery of data projects for clients including advice on data and privacy matters to new and existing clients, such as compliance programs, GDPR implementation support as well as other advisory work. You should have gained experience in a large IT/commercial practice, specialising in data protection and IT matters. The successful candidate must be technically excellent and commercially aware and be enthusiastic about data protection. Familiarity with one or more of the following sectors would be an advantage: financial services, technology, energy, the public sector. Previous hands-on experience of advising on data protection projects is a key requirement, including experience of advising on GDPR, on international data transfers, drafting privacy notices, negotiating and drafting data processor agreements and advising on marketing issues.
