the world’s no. 2 wine and spirits company. Chivas
Brothers is a full service brand owning company that
produces, exports and markets some of the world’s
best known and highest quality malts and blends. Chivas
Brothers operates under the established Pernod Ricard
formula – a decentralised structure that allows
for entrepreneurial initiative in each sector and market.
Scotch whisky is one of the key priorities for
Pernod Ricard, representing 20 million cases
and 22% of spirits sales volume. The portfolio
is led by Chivas Regal, the most prestigious
premium blended whisky in the world. Following
Pernod Ricard’s acquisition of Allied Domecq
in July 2005, Chivas Brothers is now managing
the Beefeater Gin portfolio into its business.
Reporting to the Legal Director and Company
Secretary, the successful candidate will support
and provide legal advice for the UK group on
a wide range of commercial, operational, compliance,
IP and property matters, and will have primary
day-to-day responsibility for ensuring compliance
with all Companies Act requirements for all Chivas
Brothers and Pernod Ricard UK group companies.
The ideal candidate will have a commercial background
with experience gained within private practice
or an in-house environment. You should have extensive
experience of drafting and negotiating a wide
variety of commercial contracts together with
a good working knowledge of corporate law and
practical company secretarial work including
drafting intra-group agreements, reconstruction
and winding-up. You will be expected to function
with minimal day-to-day supervision and have
an understanding of which issues to deal with
directly and when to seek guidance. You will
have good communication and interpersonal skills
and enjoy working as part of a team in a friendly
working environment. |
