The Corporate Department at AC&H requires a solicitor qualified in Scotland and/or England and Wales of approximately 3-5 years PQ to concentrate primarily on Corporate Banking as part of the Banking Unit within the Firm, working from the Edinburgh Office.
From September, the Department will have two Partners and two NQ’s and performs a wide range of private company, banking and finance , commercial and contract work.
Although the position would be to concentrate on Banking (particularly in the property market and working with the Commercial Property Department) there would be scope to gain experience in general corporate and contract work too.
Banking work within the Firm has increased considerably over the last year and significant endeavours are being made to continue the trend. Experience of dealing with Banks and other lenders is more important than Corporate or Corporate Banking experience per se as corporate banking training is available, so someone doing, for example, commercial property just now, who wants to move into Corporate, could find this a good opportunity to make the transition.
Due to the gap between newly qualified and partner level personnel within the Department, this could be a good opportunity for advancement for someone in the middle.
